With Heaven and Hell, Black Sabbath were obviously back in business. Unfortunately, the Dio-led version of the band would only record one more studio album before splitting up (although Dio would return briefly in the early '90s). One of Sabbath's finest records.9/ Reply

Heaven and Hell is also the official debut of unofficial Sabbath keyboardist Geoff Nicholls, who was initially brought in to replace then departing bassist Geezer Butler, who obviously decided to remain with the band (though only for a short while). Geoff did, however, write the prominently awesome bassline in the album's title track. Reply

May 28, · Classic RJD era Sabbath, and honestly it's my fav old-school Dio album with Sabbath. I also really enjoy heaven & hell "the devil you know". Too bad about Ronnie passing to his stomach cancer because that album was solid and I can only imagine how much more good tunes we would have got from Ronnie with tony and geezer as well as his solo band/5(K). Hence, Heaven & Hell is not so representative of black sabbath as masters of reality or sabotage, but this album is one most representative works of the heavy metal. It's very difficult to find another heavy metal band that plays similar to Black Sabbath of the Ozzy years (witching general perhaps), in contrast many bands in the 80s played /5(). Reply
